Rides at Universal Studios Hollywood

Universal Studios Hollywood features 12 thrilling rides, spread out between the Upper and Lower lots and joined by an escalator.

Three rides — Jurassic World, 3D Transformers, and Revenge of the Mummy — are located in the Lower Lot.

The remaining rides, the Studio Tour and two riveting performances are located in the Upper Lot.

Most of these rides have minimum height limits for the passengers’ safety.

We describe every Universal Studios Hollywood ride on this page and help you find the best rides for your family/group.

Avoiding the crowd at the rides

Given how frequently people visit Universal Studios Hollywood in Los Angeles, wait times can become lengthy.

Be at the theme park when it opens and start with the rides in the Lower Lot if you want to skip the wait.

The Lower Lot offers the shortest wait times early in the day because most visitors begin with the rides and shows in the Upper Lot and get there later in the afternoon.

Three different Universal Studio Hollywood ticket options are available, depending on your budget:

The General Admission ticket allows you to skip the lines at the ticket windows and save money (online rates are less expensive than at the door!)

Select the Express Ticket option on the booking page to avoid the lines at the ticket booths and the ride queues.

Choose the VIP Experience Ticket if you want to be treated like royalty, avoid all the lines, and enjoy a delicious breakfast and lunch.
